Jim, thank you for the last link in your email, which led me to an article done from Dr.
Alexander's copious journals. In the excerpt I learned that at one point William
Coventry (b ca. 1800), "the youngest son" of William (b ca 1763) II, was sent
from Columbia Co. over to Utica to intern under Dr. Alexander and become a physician also.
Wm III was "indolent," irresponsible, drank, and womanized according to the
Dr's notes. The "partnership" was disolved after the Dr. had already given
young William more than one fair chance. He is just one of about 11 children of William
II, and I had thought Charles and John were younger. Even though the Williams are not my
goal, I will look into this. Elizabeth
