Hi Jean, sorry to be so slow to respond -- been way too busy at work, but I'm on
vacation now! I've always assumed 1830 Claverack census reflected our George A. Smith
-- likewise the 1860 Claverack census. I found him in the 1880 Canandaigua, Ontario
census listed as A. George Smith living with his son George's family (Hannah et al)
and his son Alanson. George A. Smith is reflected as dying on Apr 16 1883 (Canandaigua)
and buried at the Ontario Poorhouse cemetery -- could be our George. You did mention
earlier about finding a record about Adella's death in 1890 and being buried in
Mellonville. Hope to get back to this family line soon and hope your research is going
