NY took a census every ten years from 1825-1875. They skipped 1885, then did a skimpy one
in 1892 that missed many counties (including Columbia) and omitted large portions of the
counties that were included. They resumed in 1905 and took censuses for 1915 and 1925.
Later censuses are kept secret for about 75 years, I believe. There were some colonial
censuses done for particular Towns or cities.
