Hi Carr Descendents,
I am not a descendent of the Carr family but Charles had emailed me about the family tree
Madge put on my website so I started looking. I own all of Arthur Kelly's books for
Columbia County. The only mention of Sara Taylor in the Kinderhook Reformed Church is the
baptism of Annatje her daughter with Charles Car (sic). She was baptised on 17 Oct 1756
(page 36, No. 783). Lucas Hoes and wife Lisabeth Huyk were sponsors. All the rest of the
baptisms for Charles Carr and with wife Sara Davis. They are John, 1759; Lydia, 1762;
Charles, 1764; James, 1768; Lisabeth, 1770; Michiel(sic), 1772; and George, 1775.
This could mean that Sara Taylor died and Charles married Sara Davis or that the Taylor
surname is a typo and should actually be Davis. If any one is going to the Albany State
Library, they have copies of the actual church record books and you could confirm the

And just to get you all confused some more - there is another William Carr born circa
1754/56 who is a Revolutionary War soldier who settled in Kinderhook and applied for a
pension. The pension does not name his wife but his children are Volkert, William and
Lenah. They are all baptised in the Kinderhook Reformed Church and names Lenah Witbeck as
