Charles Knight Succumbs Today
Charles Henry Knight, a resident of this district for the past 24 years, passed away at
his home in Central Ely this morning from chronic heart trouble.
Deceased was 36 years of age, having been born in Calumet Michigan December 10, 1895. He
came to this district in about the year 1908 where he has remained since that time. Prior
to his death he had been an employee of the Nevada Consolidated Copper company of McGill
in the role of a machinist for the past 15 years and during that time he gained for
himself many friends.
In September of 1926 he was united in marriage to Miss Mable Meecham and to this union was
born a daughter.
Surviving the deceased besides his wife and a two-year old child, Hazel Colleen, are his
mother, Mrs. Charlotte Knight, two brothers, William and Arthur, a sister, Mrs. Harry
Anderson, a nephew, Reginald Beauchamp and Mr. And Mrs. Meecham, parents of Mrs. Knight,
all of Ely. Another brother Edwin S. Knight is living in Detroit, Michigan.
Funeral services have been arranged for Saturday afternoon at 2:00 o'clock from
Wilson-Bates chapel. Members of the local order of Moose will act as pall bearers and
interment will be made in the Moose plot at Ely Cemetery. The last rites will be
conducted under the Methodist church services with B. F. Donovan officiating.

Chas. Knight Laid To Rest
Friends, fellow-workers and lodge brothers of the late Charles Henry Knight, who passed
away Wednesday, gathered at Wilson-Bates chapel this afternoon at 2:00 o'clock to
witness last rites for the deceased.
During the services, which were conducted by Rev. B. F. Donovan of the Methodist-Episcopal
church, Mrs. J. W. Russell, accompanied by Mrs. J. F. Miles, feelingly sang two vocal
solos, "Nearer Still Nearer" and "Jesus, Saviour of My Soul." Pall
bearers were fraternal brothers of the deceased and members of lodge No 1068, Loyal Order
of Moose. They were: M. C. Shallenberger, Caisar Caviglin, John Manson, R. R. Dean, Chas,
C, Chester, and Thos. E. Dixon.
Interment was in the Moose plot in Ely cemetery.
