Reno Evening Gazette 1928 March 7
Mrs. Glosine Parent, a resident of Reno for forty years, died this morning at her home at
411 Mill street after an illness of but a week. Her husband, the late Joseph J. Parent,
was a well known Reno contractor and builder.
Mrs. Parent came to Reno forty years ago from Riverside, Ontario, Canada, where she was
born sixty-nine years ago and she lived in Reno continuously. For a time Mr and Mrs.
Parent made their home on Lake street before that street was included in the business
district, and thirty years ago they moved to Mill street where Mrs. Parent died.
Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Irene Smith, Mrs. Cecile Nashland, and Mrs. Ruth
Flynn, and two grandchildren, Ruth Nashland and Renee Flynn. She was a member of the Reno
women's Relief corps.
The funeral will be held tomorrow at 2:30 at the Groesbeck & O'Brien chapel.
Hope that helps a bit. You can access Nevada census records for free through:
www.nevadaculture.org They include 1860 to 1920.
Regards, Arline in Reno
