DEATH OF WM C BEESON
Last Saturday evening William C. Beeson passed away at his home in
Eagleville, the immediate cause of death being heart failure. The funeral
was held on Monday afternoon in the Christian Church, the service being
conducted by Rev. M. J. Williams, and the interment in the Eagleville
Cemetery.
William C. Beeson was born in Ohio Aug. 2, 1852, and at the time of his
death was aged 73 years, 8 months and 8 days. When a young man he moved to
Oklahoma, where his wife died, leaving the father to care for seven
motherless children. One son and one daughter preceded him to the silent
land. Five children survive to mourn his loss – three sons and two
daughters; George and Somer Beeson, of Eagleville and Homer Beeson of
Cedarville; Mrs. Mollie Jenkins of Westwood, Cal.; and Mrs. Pearl Gardella
of San Francisco. There are also 15 grandchildren and 4 great grand
children and a host of friends to mourn the passing of a good citizen,
friend and neighbor. The deceased was a member in good standing of the
Woodmen of the World at Shawnee, Oklahoma. Mr. Beeson first came to
Eagleville in 1907, and with few intermissions has been a resident of
Surprise Valley since that time. The entire community extends to the
bereaved relatives and sorrowing hour of grief.
J. R. WILSON DIED AT OAKLAND
F. E. Bush received a wire last Monday, which stated that J. R. Wilson, of
this place, had passed away at Oakland last Saturday and that the remains
would be shipped here for interment and that the funeral will be held on the
21st or 22nd, with services by the Knights of Pythias Lodge, of which the
deceased was a member. Mr. Wilson has been an invalid for the past year or
more, and his passing, though not unexpected, was a shock to his many
friends. He leaves a wife and five children, Mrs. Harold Misely and Mrs.
Wm. P. Evarts, of Lovelock, Nev.; Mrs. Norman Benner, of Oakland and Joe
Wilson of San Francisco and Lee Wilson, of Mendocino County, and to them is
extended the sincere sympathy of many friends in their hour of sorrow and
bereavement. More particulars will be published later.
Born – Near Cedarville, cal., April 6th, 1926, to the wife of Pete
Dollarhide, 11 pound son
Mrs. Melissa Fitzgerald has been here the past week visiting her daughters,
Mrs. F. E. Bush and Mrs. Wm Mickle.
Dr. Elizabeth Bush and Dr. T. J. Halloran were married at San Francisco last
week. The Record extends hearty congratulations.
A letter from Frank Chopping to Mrs. Sara Powers of Eagleville, gives notice
of the death at Sonoma of Oliver Chopping, the 14 year old son of Mr. and
Mrs. Frank Chopping, and the remains were buried at Healdsburg. Mr.
Chopping certainly has had more than his share of misfortune. Mrs. Chopping
is in a Sanitarium at Napa, the three younger boys are Layton with the
Salvation Army, the baby is at Santa Cruz in a home for babies; their only
little girl is at a doctor’s place in San Jose for treatment and Mr.
Chopping has been sent to Colfax for treatment for tuberculosis. The family
surely has the deepest sympathy of their old time friends here and at
Eagleville.
