On 17 Feb 1923, Dr. Thomas Parry Tyson was shot and killed in Wadsworth, NV.
This and some particulars about his medical career (1890 graduate of the
Univ. of Pennsylvania Medical School) are stated in "Deceased American
Physicians", and in an obituary in the Journal of the American Medical
Association.
I know from census records that Dr. Tyson, a resident of San Jose, CA, at the
time of his death, had lived in Nevada for a few years, ca. 1906-1909.
I am terribly curious to know more about his death, and suppose that some
mention of it must have appeared in the newspapers for Reno or Sparks.
Unfortunately, I don't have access to those papers. Could some kind soul
look it up for me. It could be an interesting story.
If you have never heard of Wadsworth, it's just north of I-80, possibly in
the very southern tip of the Pyramid Lake Indian Reservation.
