Hi!
Apparently there is a book about Nevada entitled "Pacific Coast Annual
Mining Review and Stock Ledger" 1888
published San Francisco, Francis and Valentine, which has
two entries for an E. L. Parker on pages 28 and 38. I am curious to learn
whether this is my Ernest Leslie Parker
or a different E. L. Parker. He lived in Washoe County for a short time
and married Mary Catherine Gulling. The Gullings were longtime Washoe County
residents, starting ranches there back in the 1870's. They did some mining
in California before finally settling in Washoe Valley.
There is also another book which apparently mentions Martin Gulling, entitled
"Nevada, a Narrative of the Conquest of a Frontier Land". It is a 3-vol.
set by the American Historical Society, 1935, and the reference to Martin
Gulling is supposed to be in Vol. 2 at page 179.
There is another book mentioning Martin Gulling that I am familiar with
already. That book is entitled "A History of the State of Nevada", 1904,
by Thomas Wren. The reference to Martin Gulling is supposed to be at page
350.
If anyone has access to any of the above books, and could transcribe or
copy or send to me by one form or another the mentioned references to Gulling
and Parker, I would be very grateful. These sources might be valuable to
other researchers as well.--THANK YOU!!
