Wow, thank you so much! This is all the information I have on her so far. Her father
Antonio died October 22, 1938 he was about 70 years old. Her mother Catherine disappears
after 1938. I know that Edith (my grandmother) worked for Bell Telephone in Reno between
May 1943-August 1943, and that's when she is living at the Stevenson Court Apartments
(Apt. D). Then in September 1943 she enters the Navy under the name Edith Cassinelli and
is stationed in the Bronx, New York and then in Washington, D.C. where she is discharged.
Her sister Mary/Marie marries a man with the last name Devencenzi, and has at least 2
children Angelina and Frank by 1938. Her other siblings Victor, Lena/Dena, and Lavina
also seem to disappear after 1938. I've been told that Victor became wheelchair bound
sometime in his early life, and that one of her sister's was murdered in 1980/1981 in
Nevada. Also, that her family owned a junkyard. Antonio's obit says he worked for
Sierra Pacific Power Comp!
any for 18 years, even though he always puts farmer/laborer as his occupation. Antonio
also had two brother's living in Italy in 1938 John and Bert. The only other name
that has popped up lately, is Mrs. W.R. Stower, Jr. Box 3887 Rt. #6 Sacramento,
California. This was the address she gave upon discharge from the Navy as her permanent
mailing address. She was discharged December 15, 1945 and then married my grandfather
December 17, 1945 in Maryland. She had two sons in 1947 and in 1948. She never went back
west the rest of her life. My grandmother died April 14, 1982, I was 9 years old the
oldest grandchild and the only one who really remembers her. She was murdered at her
place of business. I'm still hopeful that there is some family still living in Reno.
If anyone has any info on where this family might be today, please let me know. Arline
thank you again for all of your help, and for all of the information.
