Surname: Brundidge
-------------------------
Thank you so much for starting this 1900 Washoe County census project Cal!......I
did find my Brundidges listed there. I also found other ancestral lines
there too. For anyone else that will be looking at this census, I just
want to call your attention, and theirs, to the following because as we
all know, and for many, many reasons, censuses contain a lot of errors:
BRUNDIDGE is listed as Brundridge, and LIEVRE, is listed as Liebri. My
great-grandfather, Alva Brundidge is listed as a "daughter".
(The same thing occurred during when the family lived in South Dakota and
they took a "special census" of the Dakota Territory in 1885). There are
some Guillings listed, with different first names than "my" GULLINGS, so
I am not certain whether this is the same or a different surname.
Finally, I see my g. grandmother's brother Ernest Martin Parker, listed
as "son" but he is not together with the Lievres. And I am curious as to
where his sisters, Violet Kinan Parker and Matty Parker are. They are not
listed with the Lievres or with their brother Ernest, but there mother,
Mary Gulling Parker Lievre is there........another mystery to be solved.......thank
you again for all of your tremendous work!!!--Jeanine

Jeanine; Go to the Nevada Archives and look at Washoe County. In there
you will find a partial 1900 Reno Census that I am working on. There is
a whole family of Brundidges.
I remember Brundidges. I think it closed quite a while ago but I don't
remember.

Surname: Brundidge
-------------------------
Hi Cal!....I am requesting marriage and/or burial information on Alva Alexander
Brundidge, born Feb. 03, 1885 in the South Dakota Territory.
He was a businessman in Washoe County (Reno) for many years, owning Brundidge's
Art Goods and Blue Printing in downtown Reno (I believe in the 1920's).
I believe you said you knew my cousin, Ted Berrum, jr., and Al Brundidge
was Ted's grandfather and he was also my great-grandfather. (Ted and my
mom are first cousins). Al was married to my g. grandmother, Violet Kinan
Parker. He was later married to a woman named Mabel (Mable?) and then another
lady, Marie. I don't have Mabel's or Marie's maiden names.
Also, I believe that Al Brundidge is probably buried in Mt. View Cemetery,
where most of my other ancestors are buried, but I do not know this for
sure. I guess I need to write for his death certificate too, because I
don't know the name of the city in South Dakota where he was born, unless
that information would be in the marriage records. He was a Mason, and
an avid duck hunter and trap shooter, and I am thinking that in his day,
he was probably a prominent member of the community. Thank you for all
of your help!!!--Jeanine
I just found out that a great grand uncle, William Fludder, was at the
Nevada Hospital for Mental Diseases in Sparks - he showed up there on the
1910 census. Is anyone familiar with the facility? Is it the same as the
Nevada Mental Health Institute???
Thanks,
Sherry

was most likely to have occurred after 1994. Can you help me locate the
data? The names are Debra (Debbi)Green or Childs, and Donald (Don) Norsworthy.

Surname: CASAGRANDE
-------------------------
Now that I have dates and names I have called Washoe County
Vital Statistics (775)-328-2456 and Nevada State Records (775) 684-4242
and was told in both places that the records don't go that far back. The
State Office suggested sending
$8.00 and as much info as I can for a records search.
Am I on the right track? Am I looking in the right places?
Again searching for Birth Record of
Joseph Peter CASAGRANDE born in Carson City according to
SS application and obituary on June 24, 1877
And the death of his mother, Maria (CORSIGLIA) CASAGRANDE
died on Oct 15, 1882 near Huffakers, Washoe County according to the Nevada
State Journal date Oct 16, 1884
(Thank you Mr. Pettengill)
I would very much like to get copies of these records.
Thank you,
Anne Casagrande

Thank you so much. This one is it! I will follow up on it.
Can you tell me though if this would be Carson County or Washoe County?
>Nevada State Journal 10/16/1884 - Sudden Death - An Italian lady, the
wife
>of Louis Casagrande died very suddenly yesterday morning near Huffaker's.
>She leaves four small children, The funeral will take place at noon.
This is a very nice thing you did for me. I will remember to do the same
for
someone who is searching for ancestors in my area (Roseville, CA)

Help! We're having a heck of a time trying to find any info on Merton
Gallagher - supposedly born in Washoe Co.,NV, married there in 1908 to
Alberta Mezker, son Clyde Gallagher. What we are looking for is the parents
of Merton (J.,T.,or I) Gallagher, he was born Nov 6, 1879 - his parents
supposedly died there also. Hoping to find their names and birthplace. I
know Merton had two brothers, one died young and the other one's name might
have been Frank, also a sister. Any info would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you,
Annie Gallagher
Can anyone help me out with information on Leona Blanche Staley, Reno NV
early 1900s. Married William K. Callahan who was my grandfather. My mother
was born 1926, Blanch Callahan. Blanche Leona Staley was supposedly an
actress in the Reno area and across the country. Staley may have been her
married name before Callahan. I have an old newspaper clipping about the
death of Raymond Staley, her son. This clipping states that Blanche Leona
Staley was the wife of Georg C. Staley and that they were actors in the
late '70s (1870's, I think). There is no date on the clipping, but is talks
about 1934 election. She had two other sons, Gordon, and Parker L. Staley.
Does anyone have any connection? Or any suggestions?

Nevada State Journal 8/20/1922 - Marriage License for Louis Casagrande
32 and Mary Avansino 21 both of Reno.

Is there someway to set up your website so that messages come not as
attachments but in the body of the text. I refer you to
roots(a)isle-of-man.com. Messages are listed in short form, followed by
detailed text. It would make the process of reading ever so much easier.
Thanks for your consideration.

I did a search of the WITS database provided by the Washoe County Library
System and it shows no listing for Herbert Leslie Mason. This is not uncommon
if no information was provided to the newspaper.

Sharon,
I really don't know what their policy is. It might have depended on when
the family sent it in. If they didn't send it, it wont be there.
You could email the new paper and ask.
