I've "rescued" three old photographs belonging to the BONHAM - POLLARD
Family. The first is identified as Mimi BONHAM the daughter of Martin
BONHAM. This photograph was taken at the U. H. Henry Studio, though there
is no location referenced so I'm not sure where that studio is located. The
young woman in the photograph appears to be in her teens and the photograph
likely taken in the 1890's.
The second photograph is of Homer BONHAM'S wife, Nellie POLLARD BONHAM. The
photograph was taken at the C. E. Peterson Photo Art Gallery in Virginia,
Nevada. The photograph appears to have been taken in the 1880's or 1890's
with Nellie likely in her 30's at the time it was taken. The third
photograph is identified as Grandma POLLARD, indicating that she is Aunt
Nellie's Mother and Uncle Homer's Mother-in-law. The photograph was taken
at the Elliott Photo Studio, however, there is no location indicated. The
photograph appears to have been taken in the 1890's with the woman appearing
to be in her 60's or 70's at the time.
Based on limited research I was able to gather the following information
regarding the family as follows:
Homer Wayne BONHAM b. 1848 in WI to parents Nehemiah Martin BONHAM (b. 1813
in Blount Co. TN) and Mahala P. NEAVILLE (b. 1822 in KY). Homer married
Ellen G. "Nellie" POLLARD (b. 1850 in NY) in 1877, most likely in NV. The
couple had two children, Henry "Harry" Homer BONHAM and Roy Delos BONHAM,
born in 1878 and 1888 in NV.
Census records for 1880 in Eureka Mill, NV:
Homer W. BONHAM, age 31, born WI, a Laborer, parents born TN/KY
Nellie BONHAM, wife, age 29, born NY, Keeps House, parents born NY
Henry W. BONHAM, son, age 1, born NV, at Home
I am hoping to locate someone from this family so that these wonderful old
photographs can be returned to the care of this family. If you are a member
of the family, or you know someone who might be, please contact me.
Thanks,
Shelley
