Your best bet would be the local newspapers. The Territorial Enterprise was published in
Virginia City during that time. I notice during your time period they don't list the
births or deaths of children. Later on they did list them. I guess it was the fact so
many of them died young. There are other papers also.
Other records are scattered all over the place or don't exist at all. They didn't
do birth or death records until 1887.
Nevada has a great site:
www.nevadaculture.org that lists all the people in the census
in Nevada from 1860 to 1920 along with other great Nevada infomation..
You might also try
www.familysearch.org that is the LDS website and if you find something
interesting you can get a loan of the material at your local Family History center. That
same website will give you it's location.
