I am not related but found this at the Nevada Historical Society.
Daily Territorial Enterprise, Virginia City, Nevada 1906 May 1
Death of Michael Hatton.
Michael Hatton, a well known resident of this city, died at his residence on Washington
street Sunday morning about 5 o'clock of miners' consumption, from which he had
been a sufferer for some time, though confined to his bed for only a few days. Deceased
was one of the early residents of this city, and was greatly esteemed by a large circle
of friends. He was a native of Ireland, aged 61 years, and leaves a widow, a son, John,
and two daughter, Miss Mamie and Mrs. Ralph Golding. He was a member of the Virginia
Miners' Union. The funeral will be under the direction Undertaker Kuihn.
He is also found in the 1880 census for Virginia City, Storey county, Nevada.
Michael is 35, Mary is 34, Charles is 7, James is 2 and Mamie is one. He is an Engineer.
The 1900 census same place as aboe shows Michael 55 a miner, Mary 53, John 26 and Agnes
17. This census lists birth month and year.
To view the census records for Nevada on line go to:
www.nevadaculture.org
when the main screen comes up click on the census Icon on the right hand side of the
screen. From there you can search from 1860 to 1920. Key in Storey for the county and
Hatton for the name and all will come up. Wonderful feature.
Hope this helps someone find their relatives.
