Leonard (b. 1799) & Christina (maiden name unknown to me) SIDES had a daughter Isbrana
(Ispenena) SIDES (b. 1827 in NC). Isbrana married Emanuel P. PENROD (b. 1826 in IL) in
March 1848 in Union Co., IL.
I am not sure when they migrated from Illinois to Nevada, but Emanuel was one of the
original developers of the Comstock Lode.
My connection to this family is through Leonard & Christina's daughter Lydia SIDES
(b. abt. 1832). Lydia first married a man named Dr. Joel GRAMMER (my line), they migrated
from Illinois in June of 1859 to Nevada Territory, shortly after the fabulously rich vein
of gold and silver known as the Comstock Lode had been discovered . It is very likely
that he moved there in response to the urging of his wife Lydia's brother-in-law,
Emanual PENROD.
Dr. Joel GRAMMER died in 1861 and Lydia then married William NEWTON (sometime between 1861
and 1863). I think NEWTON was also involved with Comstock.
Do you have an email addres for Guy Rocha? He corresponded with a relative of mine some
years ago regarding my Dr. Joel GRAMMER's family and I would very much like to contact
him.
