Dr. Linda Clements of Dayton, Nevada, once stated that she liked to travel through Nevada
"on any road that is not paved". That brave spirit has enabled her to capture
some cemetery stones at the ghost town of Candelaria, Mineral County, Nevada.
This is a former mining camp, quite prosperous, in the 1800s. There are still remnants of
buildings in that town. The ghost town is located about 14 miles south of Mina, Nevada,
and to get to it one must travel some unpaved roads.
Many thanks to Linda for her great contribution. While time has taken its toll on some of
the stones, Linda still managed to capture some of our early history.
