Hello Jean & thanks so much for your reply!
Glad to know that you are still connected. Me too, for many years. I called Nevada Vital
Rcords in Carson City, Nevada. They checked their records and found out when Henry
Harkless died. I have sent for a copy of his death certificate. Thank you for the
suggestion of calling the museum! When I found out when he died, I tried to call the
Tonopah Library to find out if they had an obituary. I accidently called the museum that
you mention in your message, instead! They were very helpful. They are going to search
for his obituary and for others with the Harkless name, If you would like to directly
email me, it is emoorepho(a)aol.com. They also said that Henry Harkless is probably buried
in the new part of the Tonopah Cemetery, as the old one was closed about 1900-1910. They
also said that many of the cemetery markers were small metal holders with paper names on
them that have since deteriorated. They did not find a stone or metal gravestone marker
listed for Henry Harkle!
ss, although he should be buried there. Not all of the gravestones are recorded, but some
of them are. They are still checking further. Wonderful folks. I really wanted to get a
photo of Henrys gravestone, but I have to find it first!
Thanks, Jean, for your great response. It is folks like you, who care, that make genealogy
research wonderful.
