If you use
Ancestry.com, got to United States searches and then go to the Nevada State
link (below the map on the first search page). Then go to the newspapers link and use the
Nevada State Journal (just below the Reno Evening Gazette link).
On that search page:
Click "Match all terms exactly".Use 1969 in the "Publication Info"
section.Use "Keyword" and enter the two words - Salazar HawthorneClick search.
That will give you the obituary which ran for Joe D. Salazar.
To the best of my knowledge there is no photo of Mr. Salazar available at the Mineral
County Museum in Hawthorne.
In checking for family trees on Ancestry, there is one for Jose Demetria Salazar. It
gives Emiliano G Salazar as his father and Rebecca Mares as his mother. Both parents were
born in Colorado. Rebecca's parents were both born in Colorado.
Best of luck in your further searches.

Dear Sir, Madam,
I am from Holland and have an interest in WW 2 history, especially
in the US servicemen who fought for our freedom.
I am seeking for a picture from Jose D. Salazar.
He was born September 28, 1923, in Colorado and died July 28, 1969.
He is buried in Hawthorne, Mineral County, NV.
He enlisted in Denver, CO.
Can you please help me? Perhaps there was a picture from him in the
newspaper or maybe his NOK are mentioned.
Thank you in advance
Kind regards from Holland
