I am not related but have a few tidbits for you.
Nellie worked at the Carson City mint in the adjusting room in 1889 and made $2.75 per
day. Weekly Gazette Stockman 1889 Sept 12 page 7
Weekly Nevada State Journal 1892 December 3 page 3
Miss Jennie Torreyson has been appinted an adjuster in the Carson Mint, taking the place
of Miss Nellie Jaqua, who resigned.
Albert Jaqua worked for the C & C [Carson and Colorado] railroad in the mail
department. The Daily Nevada State Journal 1893 9/14 page 2 tells about his wife saying
he deserted her and a young babe. He had papers showing he divorced her in Virginia City
and paid her $200 to settle her demands for alimony.
Reno Evening Gazette 1931 December 4 page 2
Died in Reno December 4, 1931 Albert D. Jaqua, dearly beloved brother of Mrs. Nellie
Raycraft of San Francisco, aged sixty years, eleven months, eight days, a native of
California. Funeral at the graveside in Dayton, Nevada, tomorrow [Saturday] Burial in
the family plot.
I would check with the Historical Society of Dayton Valley, P.O. Box 485, Dayton, Nevada
89403 for more information seeing as the family was prominent in Dayton.
