I am delighted that there is finally a Lyon County list! I am
fortunate
enough to live in Lyon County, but I am a recent resident (7 years), so my
interest in the area is for historic rather than personal reasons. (My
personal family origins and genealogical interests are in KY, AL, NC, and
VA.) I was hoping to follow a dialog among those of you whose families do
originate here, to help me further understand the marvelous history of our
county.
Thus, this e-mail is a request for dialog! Wake up, Lyon County
researchers... and let me easedrop!
I wonder how many people are actually on the list: I haven't seen much if
anything here. My reasons for being on this list are rather peripheral --
my great-grandfather (John M. RIEHM) apparently died and was buried in
Yerington in 1953 or so. One of his sisters (Bessie RAWSON) apparently
lived in Yerington (with her husband, Zebina F. RAWSON, and a son whose
name I don't know), which may explain why he was there. Aside from that, I
don't know much about Lyon County...
