Back in 1975ish my uncle saw an Old West Magazine in The Bucket of Blood Saloon sitting on
the counter. He was thumbing through it and noticed that there were adds for missing
people and their whereabouts. One named jumped out at him and that name was George
Washington Fair, he had disappeared about the early 1900's from Virginia City where he
held a partnership in a silver mine, from the mid 1880's-1900 and had money coming to
him, but was no where to be found. My 2nd great-grandfather was named George Washington
Fair and he had left his wife and 8 kids in the mid 1880's (1885), to go West from
their home in N.D. to find carpentry work, he was never heard from again, he was pressumed
dead. And apparently this George W. Fair just appeared in Virginia City, N.V., about the
mid 1880's. Is this just coinsidence or his he my 2nd great-grandfather ? Inquiring
minds would like to know. If anyone has any info about this Old West Magazine, please let
me know. This mystery h!
as gone on long enough. Any and all info is greatly apprieciated, Thank you for your time
and energy in reading my message. Sincerly, Sara
