Tom Charlie Jr. age 3, son Indian

There are no other Charlies in Austin at that time on the 1930 census so this looks pretty
good for your family.
Census for 1930 was taken April 18th so if this is your dad he was three at the time
making him born in 1927
I did a quick search for Charlies in previous census records but didn't find a lot in
Nevada. Doesn't mean they arn't there just recorded under a different first name
maybe.

Bob Burton
Bob W. Burton, a long time resident of the Austin area, died Sunday in an Elko hospital.
Born April 25, 1897, at the Silver Creek Ranch near Austin, Mr. Burton for 27 years was a
trapper for federal wildlife agencies. He also followed ranching. He sold his ranch in
1954 and retired from trapping in 1966. He had made his home in Battle Mountain the last
10 years.
Suyrviving are his wife, Nona, of Austin; five sons, Robert and Billy of Austin, James of
Carson City and Jack and Russell of Battle Mountain; and seven daughters, Mrs. Irene Weiss
of Vallejo, Calif., Mrs. Amy Gerholdt of San Francisco, Mrs. Rosie Duncan of Wendover,
Mrs. Reenie Burgess of Mackay, Idaho, Mrs. Pearl Berry of Novato, Californ., Mrs. Betty
Koska of Wendover, Utah and Mrs. Gloria Elquist of Battle Mountain.
Also surviving are 21 grand-children.
He was a brother-in-law of Tommy Charlie of Bishop, California.
A funeral will be held today at 1 p.m. in Austin with burial in the family plot there.
Burns Mortuary of Elko is in charge of arrangements.
Social security death index:
Bob Burton 530-01-4969 born 25 April 1897 died 15 Nov 1969
Last residence: Battle Mountain, Lander county, Nevada
Nona Burton 530-64-8951 born 20 March 1907 died 5 January 1996 Battle Mountain, Lander
County, Nevada.
Last Residence Battle Mountan, Lander County, Nevada.
It looks like you might want to get Nona's social security information as that will
have mother and fathers info on it.
I am a docent at the Nevada Historical Society and next time I am up there I will see if
we have an obit for Nona on microfilm for 1996, or any other family records or
information.
Good luck in your search.
Regards, Arline in Reno
