I'm pleased to announce the addition of photos for two new cemeteries, thanks to
contributions by two volunteers. Their contribution of their photographs is greatly
appreciated by all genealogists. These are two old cemeteries, so the contributions are
really appreciated, before some of the headstones get totally deteriorated.
In Carson City, Empire City Cemetery has been added from photos sent in by Sue Silver.
Empire City is located off Highway 50 near Carson City.
In Lyon County, Dawnetta Bolaris contributed her photos of an abandoned cemetery in
Smith, near Yerington. The cemetery is overgrown, and some of the original burials were
reinterred in another cemetery.
Both of these cemeteries are important to the history of the area and are a valuable
addition to our webpage. To see these two new collections, please go to the main page and
click on Lyon County and Carson, scroll down until you see the cemetery.

Many thanks to Kathy Grace who has contributed approximately 1,300 obituaries to our
obituary page. Many of the obits she submitted are from the Northern Nevada area, and are
in the date range of 1880s to 1920s. These are gradually being poste at the obituary
page.
Another new contributor of obituaries is Pat Houser, who is in the process of contributing
many obituaries from the Southern Nevada area, including Clark and Nye counties.
You can see the obits at
