The listing for the Pioneer cemetery in Humboldt county, Nevada has
been revised to contain a more complete listing of the Winnemucca Pioneer Park.

A new list of those buried in what would have been the original
Winnemucca cemetery has been added and consists of 500 or more names.
A few of the names on the list also appear in the Pioneer Cemetery as
it exists today and there are many on the list who were moved from
the original cemetery to, and now appear on the list for, the new
Winnemucca cemetery.

However, there are 200 or more names that as far as I can determine
have never been posted on any of the Internet cemetery sites. These
names may be of great interest to researchers that have previously
found no documentation of their ancestors in the Humboldt county or
other Nevada areas.
Forrest Bert Heyne, who has been researching cemeteries of the area
uncovered the list in the archives of the Humboldt County
Museum. Our thanks go out to Bert, the new information is greatly appreciated.
More information supplied by Bert will be added to the Humboldt
county pages later.
Now to all you new researchers who may have received a computer on
Christmas day and wish to begin your search for ancestors, welcome!
The web sites on Genealogy Trails are your web sites. You, the
researcher, often become volunteers and contributors of information
that we use to develop the web sites. Thank you in advance for all
the help you may be able to give. We need the obituaries, cemetery
lists, photographs of grave markers and many other bits of
information that might help other researchers in their quest for
family members.
The great thing about those who are into genealogy is the willingness
to help other researchers in their quest for information. I have
always found it so and cannot image genealogy without the generosity
of all the researchers out there.
This very update is a prime example of a researcher, Forrest Bert
Heyne, who has spent countless hours, time and money developing new
information and generously sharing it with all of us. Again, thank you, Bert!!
To you new comers, here's wishing you the best with your search and I
sincerely hope you find something on our web pages that will assist
you in that search.
