I have received a request for assistance in locating the next of kin for MIA/KIAs from the
Korean War. Since DNA technology was not available in the 1950s, the military is now able
to do DNA testing on remains that they still have that are unidentified.
This is entirely up to you whether you would like to do this or not.
We have six Army servicemen from Nevada involved; five MIA and one POW. The remains that
are available to be tested were found in North Korea.
What they are asking that we do is to obtain next of kin info for anyone living in their
home counties and send the name, address and phone number to the authorities. They will
make the contact with the next of kin.
