Ute PERKINS LEAVITT, age 72, died Thursday, December 14, 2006, in Mesquite, Nevada. She
was born July 25, 1934, in Overton, Nevada to Lawrence Whitney and Helen Ruth ROGERS
PERKINS. On July 10, 1954, she married Lowell A. LEAVITT in Las Vegas, Nevada. He preceded
her in death on November 11, 1999.
Ute lived her entire life in Moapa Valley, part of the time in Overton, part in Moapa. She
enjoyed crafts, gardening, riding horses and being outdoors. She was a founding member of
the Moapa Valley Riding Club. She farmed and ranched by her husband's side through
their years together. She will be remembered as a hard worker and one who always put
family first.
Survivors include three daughters and two sons: Elise (Mike) McALLISTER; Ruth (Kelly)
KOLHOSS; Lola (Dennis) EGAN; Ralph and Dan (Bonnie) all of Moapa, NV; seven grandchildren,
one great grandson and one sister, Larry BRUNDY of Moapa, Nevada. She was preceded in
death by two sisters Marley ROBINSON (Judge) and Susie HENRY and one grandson.
A memorial service will be held in her honor Thursday, December 21, 2006 at 1 p.m. at
Ute's home, 2550 Ranch Road, Warm Springs, Nevada. Arrangements are under the
direction of Moapa Valley Mortuary.
