While I cannot speak for every county in Nevada, I have researched in
several (Elko, White Pine, Eureka, Humboldt, Clark, Washoe, etc.) and have
not had any trouble obtaining access to the birth, marriage or death
records. Keep in mind that birth and death records at the county level are
the older records.
The state archives is also very user friendly, however to obtain birth or
death information you must provide your relationship and purpose before they
will let you have access. Also, you must be much more specific in your
request, unlike the county records which you can generally "browse."

Subject: General Inquiry
Can anyone associated with NVGEN give me the run-down on vital
records
searching in Nevada? With all the privacy laws in Nevada, how difficult is
it to look-up various marriages and deaths in different counties in
Nevada,
and how does one go about doing it? Are some counties any better in
this
regard than others?
Also, is the State Archives of any help? Any insights would be
appreciated.
