Shawn an other CP-SCs,
It took their volunteers over 17 years to transcribe all of the counties
for all of the states, and they had created 56 CDs from the
transcriptions which they had for sale (and still do). Now they have
made another great step in making the information available on-line.
This might be a good reason to try to suggest to volunteers interested
in transcribing the 1880 to switch to another year since the information
is already available "for free" on-line.
I haven't yet figured out how to get the entire transcribed page to
appear and have only been able to get the household, and then there is a
click-button for Previous or Next household to show the additional
households one at a time.
If any of you haven't yet found this web-site, it is at:
http://www.familysearch.org/Eng/default.asp
Click on the US-1880 and there are drop-down lists on the screen to
search and limit the search to a specific state, etc.
Connie

Just to make sure you all know this,
www.familysearch.com has
transcribed the 1880 US, 1881 UK and Canadian census and made it
searchable.
