Bettie:
Because this list is for "us folks" should it not remain as such for those
involved in the research of their GENEALOGY?
I have opened many mailing list lately with by-laws, amendments, and charter
revisions. While I can appreciate the need for the leaders of the list to
carry out certain political activities, I do not necessarily feel a need to be
politically active or aware, so long as the work researchers do is not infringed.
Should this activity not be carried out on a separate List and Digest? Would
you as our Representative put fort a motion to remove political activity and
business items for the research lists.
Sincerely,
Victor
The County administrators for the county sites have traditionally used
this list for communicating, amongst each other.
Although we as County admins do not object (and in fact encourage)
genealogy postings on NVGen-L, I think a revierw of t3he aRCHIVES WILL
indicate that the primary focus of communicating amoung the admins
hasn't been too much of a burden on the list.
In fact, the "politics" as you say have been minimal, and what has been
discussed, such as the administration of USGenWeb affects all of the
Nevada researchers.
I apologize if you are offended by the use of the list by the list and
website admins, but please remember these volunteers are the ones that
put the data in place for all to use freely. And they are the backbone
of the main sources of genealogy data in Nevada.

well said Jeff! Thank you.
