I'm pleased to announce the addition of cemetery pictures and an updated cemetery
survey for Desert Hills Cemetery, Beatty, Nevada, which is in Nye County, approximately
125 miles north of Las Vegas.
Beatty has its history in Nevada's mining glory days, and has remained an active
community since its beginnings. Beatty was in the Bullfrog mining area, along with
Rhyolite, which is now a ghost town.
Ben Gibson chose this cemetery, along with the Rhyolite Cemetery, to complete his project
to obtain his Eagle Ranking in the Boy Scouts. The pictures tell a story of the
ruggedness of the area and of the diverse nationalities that travelled to this desert
community. We are very greatful to Ben for this very valuable donation to the
genealogical community.
