Barbara NAY ROBISON, agen 85, passed away on Sunday, November 26, 2006 in Mesquite,
Nevada. She was born October 22, 1921 in St. Thomas, Nevada to James Calvin and Stella
HANNIG NAY. She was the second of seven children to join the family. She also lived in
Sloan, Las Vegas and Southern California while growing up, before moving to Overton,
Nevada where she met her eternal partner, Arthur Ray ROBISON. They were married on May 20,
1940 and settled on a dairy farm in Overton where they raised their own family of five
children. On November 3, 1961 they were sealed in the St. George Temple.
Barbara worked as a secretary at Moapa Valley High School for several years, but her
favorite job was being a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She enjoyed crafts and
handiwork of every kind including ceramics, crocheting and quilting. She loved music and
taught herself to play the guitar and enjoyed singing and playing at church and family
socials.
She was preceded in death by her parents, James and Stella NAY; siblings, Selma HALL,
Maurice, and Jimmy NAY; a daughter, Janet QUIRARTE; and grandson B. J. ROBISON. Survivors
include her husband, Ray ROBISON of Overton, three sons and one daughter: Calvin (JoAnn)
of St George, UT; Ben (Kay), James (Larene) Nancy (Ken) STATON all of Overton, NV; 26
grandchildren; 54 great grandchildren; three sisters: Maxine RICHARDS of Las Vegas, NV;
Shirley ANDERSON of Springfield, OR and Gloria SMART of Mesquite, NV.
Funeral services will be Friday, December 1, 2006 at 10 a.m. at the Overton LDS 1st Ward
Chapel. Visitation will be Thursday, November 30, 2006, from 6-8 p.m. at the Moapa Valley
Mortuary and again from 8:30 - 9:30 a.m. prior to services at the chapel. Interment will
be in the Pioneer Hill Memorial Cemetery under the direction of Moapa Valley Mortuary.
