Don Tharp's proposed amendment to the USGenWeb bylaws has been sponsored
by KSGenWeb and is now posted on the USGenWeb site at
http://www.usgenweb.org/volunteers/notice.shtml under the announcement
dated Feb. 20th. It would still need the sponsorship of additional
states before it would even become an ballot issue to vote on in the
next USGenWeb election.
Don's proposal is an amended version of what he originally presented to
NVGenWeb. Joy Fisher had proposed an alternative amendment in response
to Don's original proposal. Joy, do you still wish for NVGenWeb to
consider your drafted amendment or do the changes in Don's proposal
cover your initial concerns?
We can either do a simple poll on Don's amendment or a poll on Don's vs.
Joy's amendment or take other suggestions on how to handle the issue.
Yes, politics is not what we're necessarily about, but it is sometimes a
necessary responsibility. I think we can quickly tally NVGenWeb CC
preferences on this issue in short order and move on to other things
more genealogical and historical.
Let me know how you would prefer to proceed.
