I had not planned on making a campaign page, so feel free to ask me any
questions on this list or privately if that is what you prefer.
My own perspective on NVGenWeb is that it has operated that past few
years without all the ruckus that has sometimes plagued other states.
The SC's job is basically to maintain the state page, see that CCs
positions are filled, encourage the work of CCs, and pass along
announcements. I see the ASC's job as the back up to the SC if the SC
should be away for some period of time or unable continue as SC.
Because Nevada does not have lots of counties, I think whatever issues
come up can be handled informally. I'm willing to listen to all
perspectives and follow the majority view. I don't see any need to
implement parliamentary procedures unless you all think it is a
necessity to do so.
I prefer SC's that are considerate not dictatorial and willing to work
with their CCs rather than handing out ultimatums. I don't see the need
for lots of rules, but we probably need a few new guidelines for Nevada,
e.g., such as how long one might serve as SC and how to elect an SC,
etc.
My own interest in Nevada genealogy and history is an outgrowth of my
grandparents having been residents of Goldfield for many years. Growing
up in southern California, I had the opportunity to visit and explore
that region's ghost towns and countryside.
