It's good to hear from you!
Cecelia Agnes Myers Jensen, daughter of Josephine R. Boyle and George John Myers was my
grandmother; her daughter, Bertha, was my mother.
Now, if I got this right, George Franklin Myers and Delia M. Sharkey had 8 children:
Benjamin Franklin;
Winifred (died at 20 months);
Katharine Margaret;
Mary F. (died at 2 years, 20 months);
George John;
Elizabeth M.;
Ann Veronica;
Francis Patrick.
John R. Boyle and 'Kate' Touhey had 7 children:
Mary J.;
James F.;
John P.;
Elizabeth E.;
Katherine L.;
Josephine L. (my great-grandmother);
Cecelia;
(It might have helped us ancestors here in the present if they'd diversified the names
of these children a little, huh?)
I had met and was acquainted with my Grandmother's brother George and sister, Adele;
Grandma's cousin Jim Turner (I believe Elizabeth's son?); her nephew Frank Myers
(currently of Lovelock); and Grandma's cousin Jo (probably short for Josephine)
I believe Cecelia's and Jo's mothers were sisters who married brothers, rendering
Cecelia and Jo 'double-cousins' (and they looked enough alike to have been
sisters!)
I had an aunt who died when she was only 9; she was also a 'Jo' (Josie, buried in
Winnemucca).
I also know, from research, that the Sierra Valley owes it's settlement and current
appearance to our family; they were among the first to earn a living up there. And I'd
give a lot to know how the land was dispersed up there over the years (for no reason other
than pride!)
A few years ago, a woman responded to my inquiry in here. She had some really old pictures
from an anniversary party for George and Delia. My Grandma appears to be only about 9 or
10 in the picture.
Well, there's 15 minutes of your life you'll never get back. But I'm so
pleased you contacted me.
