Surname: Miller, Henley, Moody, Forrester

Dear Steve,
1) I cannot find your site
http://worldconnect.genealogy.rootsweb.com/cgi-bin/igm.cgi?op=GET&db=....
It says it has been moved. I would really like to continue visiting it
wherever it now resides.
2) I heard from a man named Jake Maxwell who said that "Major (M.H.) Miller
was born at Randolph Co., Missouri, January 7, 1855 and was educated in
the public schools and at Fayette College in Fayette, Missouri. He followed
the profession of a druggist until he came to Elko County in 1877. He then
followed the livestock industry on his ranch in Pleasant Valley. Later
he held a number of county offices with one of them being County Recorder.
His wife's maiden name was Henley and her family, the S. M. Henley's were
influential in the establishment of St. Paul's Episcopal Church in Elko.
The old Miller Ranch is presently the 6-Bar holding."
He said he got this information from a book he purchased written by Edna
Patterson called "This Land Was Ours", page 273-274.
The wife you mentioned was Emma Moody, however I seem to recall that you
mentioned the Henley's in your writings.
I also heard from another person named Margaret who said from the C.O.R.
Elko Vol. 1, page 305 it shows the marriage of M.H. Miller, residence Elko
to Emma Moody, residence Elko on March 22, 1882.
Steve, I'm sorry to ask you again about this, but I've misplaced your messages
to me and cannot recall what book you got your information from. I'm now
wondering if M.H. Miller and my gr-grandfather William Morris Miller may
have been brothers. Do you have any record of parentage or siblings on
M.H. Miller?
Also, do you have any idea how the book that Jake mentioned would get the
Henley name as his wife's last name? Could M.H. have been married more
than once?
Please let me know any information you have on M.H. Miller and also the
name of the book you referred to before. I will try to see if I can obtain
copies of both books.
