I am not related but found a few things for you.
www.nevadaculture.org lists all the names on the Nevada census from 1860 to 1920. Just
use the census icon and then the find people. I didn't find children for Charles and
wife.
1910 lists EDGAR Secor 28 from Michigan a physician in Cherry Creek, Nv
1920 lists Charles 38, and Clara 32 and Mildred 59, his mother widowed in Elko
1930 Elko Nevada lists Charles 48, Clara M. 42 and Mildred 69.
SSDI shows Clara Secor. 17 Dec 1887 born Died October 1985 Elko.
Newspaper items: Reno Evening Gazettte January 3, 1962.
Elko Woman 101, passes.
Elko, Mrs. Mildred Secor, who had lived in Elko County since 1912, has died at the age of
101 in Elko General Hospital.
She was admitted to the hospital last Thursday and died in her sleep Tuesday night.
Mrs. Secor, who was known as Mother Secor in Elko, was born October 24, 1860, in
Columbus, Wisconson. She was married to James Secor, a telegraph operator, in Fall River,
Wis., June 1879. After his death she moved to Tuscorora to reside with her only son, Dr.
Charles Secor.
Later Dr. Secor moved his practice to Elko. He had practiced medicine in Eastern
Nevada for nearly 50 years when he died in 1958.
Since that time Mrs. Secor had resided with her daughter-in-law, Mrs. Clara Secor.
On her 100th birthday, October 24, 1960 Mrs. Secor was presented a plaque from the
Elko Chamber of Commerce "for her civic support."
She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star and the Methodist-Espicopal church
in Augusta, Wis. She was a past matron of the OES Chapter in Wisconsin. In Elko, Mrs.
Secor was affiliated with the Rebekah Lodge.
Survivors include her daughter-in-law and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services
will be held Friday at 2 PM in the Burns funeral chapel in Elko.
There is also a mention in a newspaper article on the Pony Express (1960) that the photos
were from the Dr. Charles E Secor collection at the Northeastern Nevada Historical
Society. They are located currently at 1515 Idaho St. PO. Box 2550, Elko,Nv 89801. If
you do a search on Google for Northeastern Nevada Historical Society you can get
information on them. They would be an excellent place for more information on Dr. Secor
and family.
I don't see on the census or obits that he had children.
Let me know if you need additional help.
Regards, Arline in Reno, Nevada
