Hi
Found the following in the 1900 US Federal Census for State of Nevada, Douglas County
(selected items). Basic sequence:
Name/Relation/DoB/Age/PoB/FPoB/MPoB/
Park, David B/Head/Dec 1839/60/Canada-Fr/Scotland/Scotland/
Added data: married 28 yrs, occupation Farmer, immig to USA 1850
Park, Unity/Wife/Aug 1852/47/UT/Ireland/Scotland/
Added data: married 28 yrs, 9 Children from marriage, 6 still living
Park, Unie/Dau/Nov 1874/25/Single/NV/Canada/UT/
Park, David W/Son/Apr 1876/24/Single/NV/Canada/UT/Farm laborer
Park, Barbara E/Dau/Apr 1880/20/Single/NV/Canada/UT/
Park, Nevada/Dau/Jul1882/17/Single/NV/Canada/UT/
Park, Bruce/Son/Aug 1885/14/Single/NV/Canada/UT/
Park, Elsie/Dau/Jul 1891/8/Single/NV/Canada/UT/
It appears David B is listed in 1870 Douglas County census as single which would be
consistent with the 1872 marriage. He is in the household of a David Park, age 61, who is
listed as a native of Scotland.
David B, Unity and 4 children are also in 1880 Douglas County census. Unity appears as
widowed in 1910 Douglas County census with FPoB changed from Ireland to Scotland. She
does not appear in 1920 Douglas County census. I do not have access to 1930 US Federal
census.
Based on this presumably David B died between 1900 and 1910 and Unity died between 1910
and 1920. Did not have much success in finding on-line obit info in Douglas County
webpages.
Based on above, my take is the Unity born in UT that married David B would not be the
Unity from Donegal, but assuming a "legacy" name and the marriage of the Donegal
Unity at an early age, the UT Unity might be her daughter. This assumes Donegal
Unity's married name was McCue (unless there was an out-of-wedlock birth) : >)
Having a reasonable knowledge of the US Western History, I think one scenario might be
that the UT Unity was born en route to CA (Angels is Angels Camp) on a wagon train.
Another possibility is that there's a Morman connection because of their recruiting
in that timeframe in Great Britain. Latter might be a fruitful avenue to pursue because of
their genealogy resources.
Also found following on web which is likely about David B. Unfortunately it doesn't
shed much additional light.
