Since my last message, my work on the Oleson (Norgaard) Family is completed resulting
in a large notebook of abt 162 pages. I found all the siblings that came across from
Denmark. As I mentioned I did it for a lady in Denmark. We had a good trade where she
worked on my wife's Gundestrup line and I worked on the descendants of her 2nd great
grandmother who came across also. She also found the particulars in Denmark of what
happened before they immigrated here.
I was going to finalize the work not being able to find anything of Marie Petra
Olesen. The day I started too, the great granddaughter of Marie Petra, Carol May looked
on the internet and noticed my query that I put there about two years earlier. She
couldn't believe that someone wanted to know about her great grandmother Petra. She
contacted me by E-Mail. With her help I was able to finalize my work.
After reading all that I had accumulated and what she remembered her Aunt Bess told
her about Petra, she summarized their immigration into a Norgaard Immigration Timeline.
This was just what I needed to finalize the work. I also was able to acquire the Jens
& Kirstin Christensen Family Biography 1800-1981. Carol May also gave me the
Ancestors of Edwin Fremont Lee, the son of Albert (Lie) Lee and Petra Marie (Olesen)
Norgaard. Because of the colored pages, photo, etc, the book may cost too much. If you
want I can copy the family group sheet portions and Carol May's summary and send it to
you to help with your history. I will need your address.
You did have information concerning what they did in Gardnerville that I didn't
know.
I can not believe how much help this family gave me. They would let me use their
pictures, trust all the way. They still can't believe I could find all of those who
came over.
Good luck on your town history of Gardnerville.
Best regards,
Dean Wilson in Portland, Oregon.
