I will try to get the the Nevada Historical Society in Reno next week and see if they have
micro films of the Douglas county newspapers for Henriette Jessen who died 18 Mar 1913
according to the Douglas County Vital Records. Will get back to you on that.

03 August 1923 Family Reunion Held at Simpson.
Wellington, Aug. 3. - (Special)
The home of Mr. and Mrs. Andrew Jessen of Simpson was the scene of a family reunion and
party this week, the occasion being the eighty-eighth birthday of Andrew Jessen, a
resident of Carson valley since 1880 when he settled on land where the town of
Gardnerville now stands.
Those present were Mrs. George Eaton and two daughters of Sacramento, Mrs. Mary Wilder and
her son and daughter of Reno, Mrs. Neil Anderson of Gardnverville and Mr. and Mrs. Harry
Hawkins of Sparks.
Reminiscences of early days were recited, the honored guest telling of his visit to San
Francisco on a sailing vessel in 1856 and of his early life in Denmark where he was born.
He also told events of the war of 1864-65 between Denmark and Germany in which he saw
service.
