Would someone that is subscribed to
Ancestry.com and/or some other media that have access
to the US 1930 Census please review and let me know any details shown for Ralph W.
Swindell (B. abt 1897), such as his immediate family members and/or other's listed in
his household? I'm still searching with limited success in trying to locate Ralph W.
Swindell (or William Ralph Swindell) and any of his family members with any certainty.
I know my uncle Ralph Swindell, born about 1897 in Liberty County, GA moved on following
his father's death on February 12, 1917 to unknown places and then returned to Long
County, Georgia in the mid 1940's with a wife (Harriett) and a daughter (Irene) about
16-18 years of age. He and his family members moved on from Ludowici, GA in about 1947
and his younger sister (Annie Swindell Watson) communicated (letters) with his wife
Harriett in Atlanta, GA for a few years while she was employed in a Wal-Green Drug Store,
but somehow in the late 40's their written communications ceased. Apparently his
sister Annie continued to try to locate Ralph and his family. In the early 1950's a
letter she apparently sent to Ralph's last known address and the letter was returned
un-opened with deceased stamped on the envelope. His sister's house burned in the
early 50's and all copies of letters, addresses, family pictures, etc., were destroyed
in the home fire.
Some of the family can remember Ralph Swindell as well as Harriett Swindell spoke of
having been in Ogden and Salt Lake City Utah (Weber and Salt Lake Counties in Utah).
Ralph also told that he worked on the construction of the Hoover Dam at or near Bolder
City & Henderson, NV. (Both are located in Clark County. Don't know when or even
if he did work on the Hoover Dam!
The Ralph W. Swindell with date of birth of 1897 and any family or others listed in the US
1930 Census could be helpful in our search if this is our Ralph Swindell. Our search
& brick-wall continues.
Thanks!
