To obtain a copy of a marriage license, you must go to the County Recorder's
Office. If you want the marriage application (which usually has parent and
previous marriage info on it), youneed to go to the Clark County Marreiage
License Bureau.
Addresses and telephone numbers are listed on the Clark County webpage under

Subject: [NVClark] Please help me with directions for look up in Las Vegas,
Nv. for someone
Hello Nevada researchers,
I have joined this list to help some of the people asking for look-ups in
Las Vegas as I live here and go to the FHC quite often and also to the
library where they have microfilm for the Las Vegas Review Journal and Las
Vegas Sun. However, when it comes to looking up marriage, birth and death
records here in town I have no idea how to do it; where I should go to
find
them or the laws involved. Can anyone please direct me in how I
might be
able to help Lilly (message below) she lives in Syria so I would love to
be
able to help her.
Thank you for your assistance,
Marie

Dear Marie,
I forgot to ask you. Since you live in Las Vegas maybe you would know:
My uncle Wayne Mimms b. 1927 CA married (or didn't) a young woman, prbably
10 years younger than he, when they met in Las Vegas.
This would be about 1960-65. She was from a family in Sparks, NV
originally, and she was probably working in Vegas at a casino, and met
Wayne.
They had a baby girl there, and Wayne brought her and the baby to CA to
met
his mother, but the marriage(or affair?) didn't work out, and she
returned
to her home in NV, with the request that Wayne NEVER contact her or baby
again.
Wayne has 3 sons, all slightly older than this baby would be. When Wayne
died in 1998, the boys found the pictures of the lady and the baby girl
and
their Dad. They didn't know anything about it. My Aunt knew a
little, as
much as I have written here. So my cousin contacted me and asked me to
find
their sister.
I put several posting to NEVADA-L; MIMS-L; I have heard anything yet.
Is there a data base to check for all births in NV with a father name
MIMMS?
The name is rare enough, that there shouldn't be TOO many girls
born to a
MIMMS father in the early 1960's.
Do you have any idea, if the NV state governement has such a list?? What
would you suggest?
Lillian Kathleen Martin
