James Dixon Purcifull
James Dixon Purcifull died in Las Vegas, Nev., following a brief illness, on Aug. 12,
2002, at age 75.
Born Aug. 23, 1926, Mr. Purcifull was a California native and former resident of Dunnigan
and Zamora. He graduated from Pierce High School in Arbuckle in 1943. He enlisted in the

After her death, he moved to Panaca, where he bought property and remarried and was
farming the last few years with his wife Grace. According to his family members, "Jim
was independent, determined, hardworking, and talented, and overcame early difficulties to
achieve a fulfilling life."
Mr. Purcifull is survived by his wife, Grace Purcifull; sister, Marcia (Purcifull) Szabo
of Cupertino; and brother, Dan Purcifull of Gainesville, Fla.
