My grandfather, William Luster Lackey, disappeared in 1927 the day after
writing my grandmother a letter stating that he was leaving Wadsworth, NV
and driving his car to Ely, Nevada. He would have left on Christmas Eve day
of 1927. I have since learned that there was a bad snow storm in the area
that day and I am quite sure he was stranded on what was probably the
historic Lincoln Highway. Does anyone know who I might contact to find
information on a stranded car or body this far back in history? You can
contact me at JFLanthropologist(a)sbcglobal.net.
Depending on where you live. If you live in NV I would start with the local newspaper
1926-1928. If he came up missing there was probably something in the paper. I have
found some great things in the newspapers in NV. I read what is on Ancestry but have a
great cousin who loves genealogy and lives there.
Good Luck,
Sandy
