Eldon James Probert
Eldon James Probert, 86, beloved husband, father and grandfather,
passed away on Nov. 4, 2002, at UVRMC, in Provo,
Utah. He was born in Scipio, Utah on April 28, 1916, to Marion James
and Mary Allen Probert.
Eldon married Erma L. Larsen in Las Vegas, Nevada on June 30, 1956
with their marriage later solemnized in the Los
Angeles LDS Temple on June 8, 1963.
Eldon grew up in Bakersfield, California and later Fallon, Nevada.
He served in the US Army during World War II from
1942 - 1946. Eldon spent most of his life farming and did retire from
the Lancaster California School District after
twenty-seven years, where he was a purchasing agent. He was an active
member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day
Saints holding many various callings. He had a love of family, family
history, farming and gardening, cowboy literature,
and reading. His greatest joy in his later years was spending time with
his much adored grandchildren. He will be
remembered as a patient, long-suffering, kind and genuinely sweet man
who brought such gentleness and kindness to his
family's world.
He is survived by his beautiful wife, Erma, of forty-six years and
his devoted son, Dudley (Ann) of Orem, Utah; five
grandchildren, Elder Dudley Jr., Ashleigh Ann, Mark James, Scott Thomas,
and Bryan Christian. He had only one brother, Leo
Probert (Cleone, deceased) of Orem, Utah.
The family would like to express deep appreciation to the staff and
friends at Jamestown Courtyard Assisted Living and
the staff and doctors at UVRMC for their kind and competent care.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, November 9, 2002 at
11:00 a.m. in the Orem Heatheridge Chapel, 600 East
Heather Road under the direction of the Walker Sanderson Funeral Home
