Memorial services for former Fallon resident Connie "Gunner" Williamson, 56, of
Columbus, Neb. were held March 13,1999 at St. Anthony's Church in Columbus. Inurnment
with full military honors was held at All Saints Cemetery.
Williamson died March 10,1999.
Born Feb. 11, 1943 in Alabama, he served in the navy for 24 years and was a chief warrant
officer. He retired June 3, 1988 from Composite Squadron 127 at NAS Fallon. Williamson
moved to Columbus from Fallon in 1996.
He had served aboard the USS Carl Vinson, USS Enterprise, USS America, and USS Coral
Seas. During his career, he earned many awards and citations, including the Navy
Commendation Medal, two Silver Stars, Viet Nam Srevice Medal, and Navy Achievement Medal
with one Gold Star.
Survivors include wife, Sherry; daughter Barbie Payne and granddaughter, Ashley Payne,
both of Nine Mile Falls, Wash.; daughter Mistie Barclay of Reno, and five sisters, all of
Alabama.
Arrangements were under the direction of McKown Funneral Home in Columbus, Neb.
