I've posted approximately 400 photos taken during my 2007 trip to Northern
Nevada of this historic cemetery. Genoa is one of the oldest communities
in Nevada, along with Dayton in Lyon County. Genoa was originally the
Mormon Station and Snowshoe Thompson, who carried the mail over the Sierra
Mountains for over 20 years is one of the earlier burials in this historic
cemetery. Another tombstone advertises the fact that he was the first to be
buried in the cemetery, in 1866. The photos represent only about half of
the cemetery, which is very well kept by the community members. If anyone
wishes to contribute more pictures to the cemetery, I'd love to add them to
