Message Board Post:
I have copied onto my computer every Nevada cemetery list I can find, and have also
recorded all kinds of documents (although admittedly with an emphasis on Dayton, NV). So I
did a search of my computer simply for "Muzzy." Unfortunately nothing came up. I
hope other helpers have better luck.
I know this frustration well as we have many "lost" burial sites for Dayton
folks as well as for ancestors of my own family all over the U.S. Death was horribly
common during the boom days of the Comstock (even in 1891, which was after the decline
began) and the "common folk" often fell through the cracks of history. I'm
glad his death at least was noted in the Nevada State Journal article. In earlier days,
esp. when there were no local relatives, miners and others often just seemed to disappear.
I'm sure their deaths were noted at the time, but if no one retained those records...
