I did a search on
Ancestry.com and found only 2 young boys in the 1850 census for Isaac
Gandy. One was a complete family - Father Isaac 38, Mary 28 plus 7 children with Isaac
being the second born age 7. If he was an orphan that rules him out. That was in
Georgia.
The second was 1850 Indiana, Union, Brownville page 592. This is the Thomas Strong
family he was born Pennyslvania, wife Elizabeth 60 Penn, Matilda Strong 34 Penn, Emily
Strong 22 born Indiana, Samuel Strong 20, Thomas Berry 15, Elizabeth Gandy 11, Sarah Gandy
9, and Isaac Gandy 8. they list everyone from Emily on being born in Indiana. Usually I
find errors in this quite often. Maybe this might be the family???
Nevada didnt become a state until October 31, 1864. Before that it was all Utah
territory.
Good luck.....Arline in Nevada
