Mina today mourns the passing of A. W. (Billy) CURTIS. old-timer and popular mining man
who died in Mina on Wednesday night, February 20th.
Mr. CURTIS was seventy-four years old and came to Nevada to reside in the early boom
days. He was active in mining work in the state for many years and for some time past was
a large property holder in the camp of Douglas where he has lived for several years.
Mr. CURTIS was a member of the old school and was well known by his many friends as an
honest, generous man of splendid character who always believed in the future of the state
and this section especially. He had a host of friends who will miss him and his warm
friendship now that he passed to his reward.
Services will take place from the Mina church on Saturday.
Miss Lilly PEPPER of San Francisco and her father, Charles F. PEPPER of Yuma, Arizona
will be present to help in the last rites.
