Thomas A. Kirkpatrick Buried In Hawthorne After An Impressive Service

The death of Thomas A. KIRKPATRICK shortly before midnight on Monday (14 Jul) at the
Mineral County Hospital has been announced. he had been confined at the hospital since
last December, having been brought in from Belleville. Mr. KIRKPATRICK has been a resident
of Mineral County for some five years and was well and favorably known to many of the
Hawthorne pioneers.
Since prior to the Goldfield boom, Mr. KIRKPATRICK has been engaged in the business of
mining stock broker and promoter and has been a familuar figure about Nevada and
California mining stock exchanges. Prior to his demise he was engaged inmning promotion in
the vicinities of Belleville and Basalt.
Mr. KIRKPATRICK was within a few days of 82 years old at the time of his death. He was
born in Liverpool, England and was admitted into the United States citizenship in 1887. He
is survived by three sons; Gerald, who is now permantely located in Hawthorne, Cecil of
Imperial Valley, Roy of Globe, Arizona and by a daughter Mrs. Norma FREEMAN of LaJolla,
CA. Interment took place at the Hawthorne Cemetery Tuesday afternoon (15 Jul) following
inspiring funeral services conducted by Sam KELSO and a choir consisting of Mesdames
Walter McKEOUGH, John ANDRES, H.H. MARSHALL and Messrs. Walter McKEOUGH and L.A. RAIME.
Mrs. Stell STINSON officiated as pianist.
